Safety & Trust

Building a marketplace people can trust

No platform can guarantee anyone's safety, but these are the steps Taskly takes and the expectations we ask everyone to follow.

Why verification matters

Verification helps customers know who they're hiring and helps providers stand out. Student, identity and guardian checks are tracked separately, and each is reviewed by a Taskly administrator.

A badge only appears on a profile after that specific check has actually been completed. Providers can't add badges themselves.

Guardian approval

Where a provider is under 18, a parent or guardian may need to approve the account before it can accept payouts. The guardian's details are kept private and are never shown on public pages.

Keeping personal information private

Public profiles show a name, photo, services, prices, a general service area and reviews. Phone numbers are shared only with customers who have sent a request. Dates of birth, guardian details and payment details are never public. Card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by Taskly.

We recommend meeting in appropriate settings, sharing only what's needed for the job, and never sharing passwords or bank details.

Respectful behavior

Be honest in your listings and reviews, show up when you say you will, communicate clearly, and treat everyone with respect. Harassment, discrimination, fake reviews and misleading listings aren't allowed and may lead to removal.

Tips for customers and providers

Agree on the job, price and timing before starting. Customers should make sure a responsible adult is aware when working with a minor. Providers should tell a parent, guardian or friend where they're going. Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave.

Reporting a problem

If something goes wrong, contact us and choose "Safety concern" or "Report a problem". For emergencies, contact local emergency services first.
